Attendees are invited to a special presentation
FASD: "Finding Hope" with Judy Archer, MSW, RSW
A one hour Canadian documentary about FASD, "Finding Hope" provides great insights of the lives of several families and their children who are living with FASD. The video contains discussions with professionals in the field regarding diagnosis, physical and neurological effects, cognitive and behavioural issues, intervention and the importance of recognizing that the effects of FASD are due to a brain injury rather than willful choices. Following the video Judy will present additional information about FASD, including tools and strategies for parenting children with this life-long disability. This educational session will be hosted by Judy Archer, MSW, RSW, who is the Permanency and Adoption Support Services Manager at the Adoption Council of Ontario.
