Pathways to Permanence 2 is a 24-hour specialized series of classes designed for foster and adoptive parents, kinship caregivers, and guardians who are parenting children who have experienced trauma and loss as a part of their history.
The course provides tools, techniques and information that empower participants to effectively parent their children.

Location: Children's Aid Society Of The Districts Of Sudbury And Manitoulin, 319 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, ON P3A 1W7
Time: Fridays, 6:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
***A group meal will be provided mid-day.
* Please note that for some of our Pathways offerings, we are adding an extra session, for a total of 9 sessions instead of the usual 8. This extra time will enable us to move forward with the next phase of our Pathways evaluation project with the University of Toronto. Please see sessions listed above to determine if this applies.
Elaine Ash, MSW
Elaine has been working in the field of mental health for over 35 years. She has experience working in child welfare and working with First Nations children. She worked for many years at the Out-Patient Child and Family Clinic at Trillium Health Partners, Credit Valley Hospital and has a private practice with the primary focus being Post-Adoption Integration work and addressing the mental health needs of children and youth who are navigating their lives as adopted children. Elaine is an experienced instructor and trainer and is an adoptive parent.
Who: This training is for parents and caregivers where a placement has already occurred.
Cost: This course is being offered at NO cost to participants thanks to funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

Certificate: A certificate of completion will be provided.
Childcare: Child care will be provided to children 3 years of age and older. Childcare MUST be booked in advance; please include your childcare needs when you register. The deadline to register for childcare has been extended to October 2, 2017, at 9:00 am.
Please note, Ontario's PRIDE curriculum is equivalent to The Kinship Center's Pathways to Permanence 1 curriculum.
