Pathways to Permanence 2 is a 24-hour specialized series of classes designed for foster and adoptive parents, kinship caregivers, and guardians who are parenting children who have experienced trauma and loss as a part of their history.
The course provides tools, techniques and information that empower participants to effectively parent their children.

The emergence and spread of the COVID-19 virus has rapidly changed the way everyone is operating. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our staff and trainers and everyone who participates in our programs.
As such we have decided to offer Pathways to Permanence 2: Parenting Children Who Have Experienced Trauma and Loss © through an online platform.
Location: Online via Zoom (The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants closer to the event date; please see below for technical requirements).

Darby is an adoptive parent, a Registered Psychotherapist and on the Registry of Marriage and Family Therapists. She has a private practice and works part time at Family Services York Region. She has provided counselling to individuals, couples and families who are dealing with various issues such as parenting, adoption, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression and domestic violence for over 20 years. Her experience includes working with all members of the adoption constellation. Darby has been a PRIDE trainer since 2007.
Who: This training is for parents and caregivers where a placement has already occurred.
Cost: This course is being offered at NO cost to participants thanks to funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
