Hello ACT Alumni!
We hope you are doing well and enjoying this nice summer weather. We thought it would be a good time to touch base before the summer and let you know about a few great things going on in the coming months.
Pathways to Permanence training for families - Fall Offerings
If you know a family who would be interested in or benefit from the Pathways to Permanence training program, please encourage them to fill out our “Where and When: Pathways 2 in Your Community” survey by Monday and lets us know where they’d like to see Pathways come next.

ACT Summer Intensive - July 11-14 & August 8-11 in GTA
Tell you colleagues that we are offering ACT as a "Summer Intensive" for the first time. Instead of training the curriculum over 4 months it will be offered over July and August - 4 days in July and 4 days in August. We hope that might make it easier for professionals to fit it into their busy calendars! We hope to offer Fall ACTs in Ottawa and perhaps in the GTA and Barrie, depending on demand.
The registration link for the Summer ACT is here: https://www.adoption.on.ca/events?event_id=440
There are a few seats left but they will need to register very soon - it starts on July 11th!!

ACO Education Day – Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9 am to 4 pm
The ACO is very happy to be holding another one of its great Education Days for families and professionals on Saturday October 22, 2016 in Brampton Ontario near the 410 & 407. The Day’s theme “Building Lasting Permanency for Our Kids” will provide an opportunity for our community to share its knowledge and experience together, and further build community networks that will lead to a stronger “village of support” for our kids and families across the province.
Please “Save the Date” in your calendars for now, more information will follow later in the summer.
That’s it for now!! We hope you are continuing to use the ACT curriculum in your work with families and children. Maybe some of you are also staying in touch with each other and building a "community of practice" for this work - we'd love to hear about it. FYI, about 180 parents in 12 Ontario communities have benefited from the Pathways training program over the past six months and plan to stay in touch with each other through parent support groups that they have set up through Pathways and our PACT Parent Liaison Sylvia Gibbons. We encourage you to keep giving the families you work with the support, tools and HOPE they need so they can continue to provide lasting permanency to their kids.
If you have any other questions, comments or suggestions please drop us a line email@example.com
Thank you again for participating in one of our inaugural ACT training programs. Our best wishes for a happy and heathy summer to all of you!
All the best,
The PACT Team
