The programs of the ACO are wide-ranging. Each program focuses on a needed resource in the adoption community.

 

 

 

Hundreds of children are in need of homes today! Families are ready to adopt! AdoptOntario finds the best matches for children and youth and siblings in foster care. This is amazing work. 

 

 

 

PASS provides a variety of counselling, support and advocacy services to all members of the adoption and permanency planning constellation, across the lifespan, pre and post-placement. 

 

 

 

Parents and caregivers need to develop a greater understanding of themselves in order to better parent their children, a point that becomes particularly critical when parenting children with traumatic histories.

We are trying to do better at identifying, understanding and healing Developmental Trauma in children, in adults hurt as children, and in families and communities where Developmental Trauma has become intergenerational.

We know that all children and youth are deserving of a forever family and capable of finding one—however at least 1000 young people per year age out of the care system without finding that lifelong permanent connection.  NTL exists to give back this opportunity to people who have left care without one.

Adoption is a wonderful way to build a family, however, it is still not the norm.  Although family and friends may be supportive of parents by adoption and their children, they may not truly understand the rewards and unique challenges surrounding adoption.
