Transracial Parenting Initiative – resource and training material collection – GET INVOLVED!
The Halton Multicultural Council, (Oakville, ON) with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, is currently developing the Transracial Parenting Initiative, a three year project that aims to create education and training curriculum for parents fostering/adopting a child of a race or culture different from their own. The project includes: developing a literature review; offering an online survey and holding focus groups in the KW, Halton and Peel regions; creating an educational training video to be used by agencies which will be accompanied by a comprehensive curriculum for practitioners and take away resource for parents.
